Discover Rowing

The Discover Rowing program is designed to introduce non-rowers to the sport of rowing and Smoky Mountain Rowing Club (SMRC). These two-hour classes are led by SMRC coaches and members of the club's masters program.

In Discover Rowing you will:

• Learn about the history of the sport
• Learn basic rowing terminology and physiology
• Learn basic rowing technique on the rowing machine
• Be prepared for on water rowing instruction

This program is FREE!!  Join us for a Discover Rowing session and see if this is the sport for you!

Discover Rowing Schedule:

• Discover Rowing XI: July 26 9 a.m. (Saturday)
• Discover Rowing XII: August 4 6 p.m. (Monday)
• Discover Rowing XIII: August 16 9 a.m. (Saturday)
• Discover Rowing XIV: August 30 9 a.m. (Saturday)

Recommended Items:
Comfortable clothes (not baggy)
Shoes to slip out of at the dock
Extra pair of socks
Sunscreen and Sunglasses
Hat
Water bottle
Lawn chair

SMRC Boathouse is located at
3498 Rankin Ferry Loop, Louisville, TN 37777

From Pellissippi Parkway: Travel 140 E, turn right off of Pellissippi Parkway onto Topside Road toward Louisville. Turn right onto W. Old Topside Road, right again on Louisville Boatdock Road, and then veer right on Rankin Ferry Loop Road to Lashbrook Nursery on right. Take the gravel drive to the boathouse. Signs will be posted.

From Louisville Road: Turn right onto Topside Road, left onto W. Old Topside Road, right on Louisville Boatdock Road, and then veer right on Rankin Ferry Loop Road to Lashbrook Nursery on right. Take the gravel drive to the boathouse. Signs will be posted.
